Afghanistan lauds India's 'no strings attached' support
Amritsar (Punjab) [India], Dec. 4 (ANI): Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani on Sunday appreciated India for its 'no strings attached' support for development of his country and lauded the Chabahar Port project. "India's help is transparent and with no strings attached. There are no secret agreements on hidden conditions. India's support is aimed at improving people's life," Ghani said in his address on the second day of the Heart of Asia conference in Amritsar. He said that the Chabahar Port project between India, Afghanistan and Iran is a major step in transforming Kabul from a land locked country to a land bridge. He also appreciated the recently agreed air cargo air corridor, saying it will give the Indian and Afghan consumers and producers an impeded access to each other's products and services. During the conference, the Afghan leader reiterated his comments that Islamabad practices selective cleansing of terrorists he has often accused the Pakistan security forces of differentiating between the 'good Taliban' and the 'bad Taliban'. He also urged Pakistan to dent safe haven to terrorists while calling upon the international community to work for peace and stability in the region. The Heart of Asia initiative was launched in 2011 for encouraging economic and security cooperation between Afghanistan and its neighbours for dealing with the common problems of terrorism, extremism and poverty. Pakistan, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, China, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates are part of the process. (ANI)
