ADHM row: Govt. has assured security and law and order, says Mukesh Bhatt
New Delhi [India], Oct. 20 (ANI): The president of the Film and Television Producers Guild of India, Mukesh Bhatt, on Thursday said that he had received assurances from Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on the issue of providing full security to exhibitors of the movie 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil'. "Rajnath Singh assured us 100 per cent support and that he will speak to every single chief minister of every state to see that law and order is maintained and full protection is given to every single exhibitor," said Bhatt. He said the government has assured them that the movie is released without any violence and problem. While further commenting on Pakistan banning Indian content Bhatt said, "It doesn't matter to us that Pakistan has banned our content in their country, our content is released worldwide and we don't need Pakistan," The Film and Television Producers Guild of India member met Rajnath Singh today concerning the release of Karan Johar's next movie 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' which has been surrounded by controversies after receiving threat from Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) for featuring Pakistani actor Fawad Khan. The movie is scheduled to be released on October 28. Dharma Productions' Apurva Mehta, Fox Star Studios' Vijay Singh and Babul Supriyo was present with Mukesh Bhatt in the meeting, while Karan Johar was not part of the delegation. After situation between India and Pakistan worsened, many political parties and that Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) have been demanding a ban on KJo's film that also stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma. In an emotional video statement, Johar earlier on Tuesday expressed a "deep sense of hurt and pain" by the charge of being anti-national. "I condemn terror in the strongest terms, I respect our Army, for me, the country comes first," the 44-year-old said. "The reason why I remained silent is because of a deep sense of pain," he added. Johar, who made his directorial debut with the blockbuster romance Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, further said: "The best way to express your patriotism is to spread love and thats all I have ever tried to do through my work and cinema." Yesterday, director Shyam Benegal also came out in support of Johar and his film and said that his patriotism is not to be doubted. He added that Karan chose the actors because of their talent and not because of the country they belong to hence it's very wrong to make him suffer. The MNS after imposing the ban on artistes from the neighboring country, in response to the terror attack in Uri led by Pakistan, had on Monday openly threatened the theaters owners if they screen the movie.
