ADHM demands smooth release, says Madhur Bhandarkar
New Delhi [India], Oct. 20 (ANI): Lauding the support of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh with regard to the release of Karan Johar's next movie 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil', film director Madhur Bhandarkar on Thursday said the movie demands a smooth release as Indian talent, people and technicians have worked day and night for it, and added that Pakistani actor Fawad Khan just had a cameo in it. 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' needs a smooth release, because it has Indian talents, people and technicians have worked day and night in this movie," he said. The Film and Television Producers Guild of India member, Mukesh Bhatt, Dharma Productions' Apurva Mehta, Fox Star Studios' Vijay Singh and singer Babul Supriyo met Rajnath Singh today concerning the release of the Karan Johar's movie which has been surrounded by controversies after receiving threat from Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) for featuring Pakistani actor Fawad Khan. "It is absolutely a great move that all the film fraternity people are meeting honourable Rajnath Singh ji and definitely everyone wants the movie to be released and it has to have a smooth release," Bhandarkar added. Further commenting on the MNS protests and demand for a ban on K Jo's film that also stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma, he said, "The movie has been shot earlier, much before Uri attack. Fawad Kahan was there, he shot and I believe he has a cameo in the film and has already left the country, but there are so many big names involved in the film. I think this is absolutely wrong, and all the film industry people want this movie to be released. I want the people also to support this movie and have a proper release." The president of the Film and Television Producers Guild of India, Mukesh Bhatt, on Thursday said that he had received assurances from Union Minister Rajnath Singh on the issue of providing full security to exhibitors of the movie 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil'. The movie is scheduled to be released on October 28. In an emotional video statement, Johar earlier on Tuesday expressed a "deep sense of hurt and pain" by the charge of being anti-national. "I condemn terror in the strongest terms, I respect our Army, for me, the country comes first," the 44-year-old said. "The reason why I remained silent is because of a deep sense of pain," he added. Johar, who made his directorial debut with the blockbuster romance Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, further said: "The best way to express your patriotism is to spread love and that's all I have ever tried to do through my work and cinema."
