Adamant MNS reiterates Pakistani artistes should be banned in India
Mumbai ( Maharashtra), Oct. 8 (ANI) : Maharashtra Nav Nirman Sena (MNS) leader Shalini Thackeray slammed actor Fawad Khan for his Facebook post and reiterated her stand that Pakistani artistes should not be allowed to work in India. "Yes I have seen Fawad Khan's statement and after the statement I reiterate my stand that Pakistani artistes should not be allowed to work here. Bigger issue is that these Pakistani artistes come into our country and get respect, get money and get love from people but they don't reciprocate and we have said that before," she said. "When people from the industry talk about that art and culture should be kept separate, I assume that through these people cultural ties will come better between the two countries. But when Fawad Khan was working here there were so many terrorist attacks in the country, has he said anything on these attacks? Has he even tweeted about it? So what kind of difference it has made to the cultural ties and these ties have only become worse," she added. "Now I am doubly convinced about the stand we have taken that Pakistani artistes should not be allowed in the country to work. Again I reaffirm my stand they should not be work here and they don't deserve it," Thackeray told ANI here. On Friday, the actor, who has been accused of speaking against the Bollywood film industry and India at large, broke his silence and cleared his stance on the same. "I've been in Lahore since July as my wife and I had been expecting our second child. I've received numerous requests from the media and from well wishers worldwide asking me for my thoughts on the sad incidents that took place in the past few weeks. As a father of two little children, I pray and wish like many others that together we can build and live in a more peaceful world. I believe we owe it to our children who will shape our tomorrow. This is the first time I have spoken on the matter. Please disregard any other words attributed to me during this time because I have not said them. I thank all my fans and fellow artists from Pakistan, India and people in general all over the world who have shown continued support for their belief in love and understanding to unite a divisive world," Khan wrote on his Facebook wall. Amidst fans from both sides of the border continuing to wage the virtual war and all other things considered, the the IMPPA has reportedly allowed Fawad Khan starrer 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' to release nationwide.(ANI)
