New Delhi, July 23 (ANI): Judith D' souza, the Indian national, who was abducted in Kabul on June 9th, has been rescued, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj tweeted on Saturday morning. "I am happy to inform you that Judith D'souza has been rescued" tweeted Swaraj. "I have spoken to Judith. She is reaching Delhi this evening. Ambassador @VohraManpreet is accompanying her," she added. Judith, a resident of Kolkata, had been working for international NGO Aga Khan Foundation and was abducted, reportedly, by militants a week before her return to India. Meanwhile Aghnes D'souza, Judith's sister, expressed her gratitude to the Government of India and especially to Minister Swaraj for their efforts to rescue her. "We are very grateful to the Government of India and especially to Mrs. Swaraj for bringing my sister back safely," she told media. In the past month, the family had also written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting him to do the utmost in securing her release.
