New Delhi [India], November 22 (ANI): AAP MP Sanjay Singh on Friday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of favouring Gautam Adani and alleged that he was responsible for major losses in the stock market.
"The entire nation is in turmoil today. Nearly Rs 5.5 lakh crore of people's wealth has been wiped out in the stock market because of the fraud committed by Prime Minister Modi's friend, Adani," Singh said.
He recalled the Hindenburg report incident, stating that a similar crash had occurred then, but the Prime Minister remained silent. "Modi, who comments on minor thefts like a buffalo or mangalsutra being stolen, is quiet when lakhs of crores of public money disappear," he added.
Singh further lashed out at PM Modi's international visits, alleging they benefit Adani instead of the country. "When the Prime Minister travels abroad, people believe he is strengthening India's position globally. But in reality, he is working to strengthen his friend Adani," he said.
Singh alleged that Adani misled Indian stock exchanges about the U.S. investigation and questioned regulatory inaction. "Why is SEBI silent? Why is Modi shielding Adani? Modi even changed rules to award Adani airport contracts," Singh said, labelling Modi as "Adani's Prime Minister."
The Adani Group has denied the allegations made by the US Department of Justice and the US Securities and Exchange Commission against directors of Adani Green Energy.
With the Parliament's winter session starting on November 25, Singh vowed to raise the issue of corruption strongly, demand an investigation, and question why no arrests have been made yet.
Following the launch of AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal's new campaign "Revdi Par Charcha," Singh slammed the BJP for opposing free schemes in Delhi and vowed to continue Kejriwal's welfare programs despite their opposition.
"BJP wants to shut all free schemes in Delhi. It opposes all such schemes, including free electricity, free water, and free medicines and checkups through Mohalla Clinics. Despite this, we give a surplus budget to Delhi. Kejriwal Sahab's economy is focused on giving benefits to the people. This is opposed by the BJP. We will tell people about it. We will go to every household and tell them that Kejriwal's 'revdis' will continue. BJP and PM Modi may oppose it as much as they want, but this won't stop," the AAP leader added. (ANI)
