New Delhi [India], October 11 (ANI): Launching a scathing attack against the Aam Aadmi Party over Delhi's budget deficit, Bharatiya Janata Party MP Bansuri Swaraj said that as per the report of the Delhi Finance Department that came yesterday, it has become clear that Arvind Kejriwal is behind the collapse of Delhi's economy.
"Yesterday a report of Delhi Finance Department came...from this report, it is clear that the reason behind the collapse of Delhi's economy is Arvind Kejriwal, AAP, and Delhi CM Atishi...for the first time in the 21 years, Delhi's budget is in deficit, a deficit of Rs 7,000 crore. That means Delhi's expenditure is much more than its income and this deficit happened intentionally..." said Bansuri Swaraj.
"When the budget was passed in Vidhan sabha, CM Atishi who was the finance minister then announced that Delhi's budget was in surplus. They made big claims that Delhi has extra money but essential infrastructure projects like repairing hospital infrastructure, a new court complex in Delhi, providing salaries and pensions and many more things were not even made provisions of in the budget. They did not mention over 7,000 crore rupees in the budget. This has been done deliberately to make a fool of the people of Delhi," she added.
Earlier on Monday, the BJP MP lashed out at the AAP leaders saying that Sanjay Singh and Manish Sisodia continuously allege that the BJP is misusing central investigation agencies like the ED and CBI, but failed to provide a single instance where a court of law has upheld these allegations against the agencies.
Swaraj also pointed out that AAP leaders frequently claim their homes have been raided without yielding any incriminating evidence. She questioned why, if the investigation agencies have no case against them, the AAP leaders have not had their cases quashed in court, opting instead to seek bail. (ANI)
