"A new era is starting with end of misrule of corruption": BJP spokesperson Pratul Shah Deo

Ranchi (Jharkhand) [India], November 23 (ANI): As the counting of votes is currently underway in Jharkhand for the assembly polls, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Pratul Shah Deo on Saturday said that a new era would be starting in the state with the end of the misrule of the Soren government.
Speaking to ANI, Deo said "Not only has the counting of the votes started in Jharkhand, but also a new era is starting with the end of the misrule of corruption of Hemant Soren. We expect the first trends to come in an hour but we are very hopeful. The day will usher for BJP and the people of Jharkhand. Hemant Soren is on his way out and we will come back with a thumping majority."
Earlier today, Chief Electoral Officer K Ravi Kumar said that the first round of EVM results expected to be announced by 9:30 am with counting of postal ballots begining earlier at 8 this morning.
State Chief Electoral Officer K Ravi Kumar said, "One counting centre each has been set up in all 24 districts... All preparations have been made. The process has begun... Counting of postal ballots will begin at 8 am and EVM counting will begin at 8.30 am. The results of the first round will be declared by 9.30 am..."
In Jharkhand, the first phase of polling took place on November 13, covering 43 of the 81 assembly seats. The contest is between the JMM-led alliance, comprising Congress, RJD, and CPI(ML), and the BJP-led NDA alliance, which includes AJSU, JD(U), and LJP. Exit polls predict the NDA could win between 42-47 seats, while the JMM-led alliance is expected to secure 25-30 seats.
Voter turnout in Jharkhand was reported at over 68.45 percent on election day, surpassing the 2019 elections turnout of 65 percent.
In the 2019 elections, the JMM won 30 seats, BJP 25, and Congress 16 seats. The results for all 81 constituencies in Jharkhand, along with the Maharashtra and bypoll results, will be declared today. (ANI)
