Pune (Maharastra) [India], Mar 9 (ANI): With three claimants for the same seat, Congress' Maharastra unit is finding it tough to settle on candidature for Mumbai's North-West seat in the ensuing Lok Sabha polls.
Incumbent Mumbai Regional Congress Committee (MRCC) president Sanjay Nirupam, National Spokesperson of the Congress Priyanka Chaturvedi and former MRCC president Kripa Shankar Singh are all staking claims for the seat.
While Nirupam, who is seeking to change his seat from North Mumbai to North West, is being considered as a strong contender for the seat, the old guards of the party are counting on Singh. Chaturvedi is also keen on contesting from Mumbai North West- a seat from where late Congress leader Gurudas Kamat contested.
According to party sources, the screening committee of Maharashtra Congress might nominate all the three candidates and the final call could be taken by Congress' Central Election Committee. (ANI)
