Bijapur (Chhattisgarh) [India], April 30 (ANI): As many as 16 Naxals, including four carrying a cumulative bounty of Rs 18 lakh on their heads, surrendered in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur on Tuesday, officials said.
Among them, Arun Kadti (21) was a member of the People's Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA) Battalion No. 1 of the outlawed CPI (Maoist), police officials said.
Kadti, who carried a reward of Rs 8 lakh on his head, was involved in the January 20, 2024 attack on security forces in Tekulagudem in Sukma in which three CRPF personnel were killed and 14 others injured.
They were given Rs 25,000 each as an incentive for their rehabilitation and will be provided facilities as per the government's surrender.
Earlier today, at least 10 Maoists, including three female members, were killed in an encounter with security forces in Chhattisgarh's Narayanpur Narayanpur-Kanker Border on Tuesday, officials said.
According to the police, a joint party of the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and the Special Task Force (STF) jawans had left for a Maoist operation in Abujmarh of the Narayanpur and Kanker border area on Monday.

The encounter between Maoists and a joint security team of the DRG and the STF broke out in a forest at around 6 am today.
"During the operation, an encounter took place between the police party and Maoists in the forest between the village Tekmeta and Kakur at 6 am on April 30. During the search of the incident site after the encounter, bodies of a total of 10 Maoist cadres including 3 female Maoists have been recovered, which are being identified," it added.

Two hardcore naxals DVCM (divisional committee member) were killed in today's encounter in the jungles of Abujhmad at Narayanpur Kanker border area.
A huge quantity of weapons, including one AK 47, have also been recovered from the encounter site. (ANI)
