Dhar (Madhya Pradesh) [India], November 2 (ANI): Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has taken a dig at the Congress party saying the 15-month-long Congress rule in the state was a government of 3Cs (cuts, commission and corruption).
Scinda made the remark while talking to the reporters in Madhya Pradesh's Dhar district on Thursday evening.
"The 15-month-long Congress government in the state was a government of 3C (cuts, commission and corruption). The public has recognized them well," the union minister said.
Meanwhile, when asked about Jai-Veeru politics, Scindia said that the role of the actors playing the character of Jai-Veeru in the Bollywood movie Sholay was to cheat and to steal, so what message does the Congress trying to convey by calling former CMs Jai-Veeru.
"What was the role of Jai-Veeru characters as an actor in the movie Sholay? Their role was to cheat and to steal and general secretary in-charge of Madhya Pradesh for Congress, Randeep Surjewala himself calling former CMs Kamal Nath and Digvijaya Singh as Jai-Veeru. So what message are they (Congress) giving to the public," union minister Scindia said.
Earlier in the day, when asked about whether he will be the CM face of Madhya Pradesh, the Union minister told reporters in Maihar district that people should never include the Scindia family in the race for the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh.
"Never include the Scindia family in the race for the chair (referring to CM face). The Scindia family works day and night with passion for development, progress and public service. Due to the work done under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the work done by CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan in the state for the last 18 years, Madhya Pradesh has come out of Bimaru Rajya (Sick state). It has marked a place into the category of an unmatched state," Scindia said.
Madhya Pradesh is one of the five states set to undergo polls in one phase on November 17 and the counting of votes will take place on December 3. Voters will choose legislators from 230 Assembly constituencies.
Notably, the last state assembly polls in 2018 saw the Congress coming to power, with veteran leader Kamal Nath taking oath as the chief minister.
Nonetheless, a political upheaval rocked the state in 2020, after the then Congressman Jyotiraditya Scindia, along with 22 loyalist MLAs, switched over to the saffron camp.
The Congress government fell after being reduced to a minority and the BJP formed the government, with Shivraj Singh Chouhan returning as chief minister. (ANI)
