'No prejudice about demonetisation,' asserts former PM Deve Gowda
New Delhi [India], Dec.1 (ANI): Former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda said that announcement made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was one of the major decisions taken by since the time of Morarji Desai in late 1970s. When asked as to why is the opposition running away from debate and doesn't want to talk about demonetisation? The Janata Dal (Secular) supremo said demonetisation had not been planned prudently, and therefore the protests were legitimate. "The demonetisation announcement was a hurried decision without any proper preparation," the 83-year-old leader told ANI. Gowda further said that the most affected people are the ones in rural areas as the farmers and milk vendors are not able to get payment following the ban on Rs 500 and Rs 1000. "People are suffering while standing in ATM queues to withdraw cash," he added. Gowda said that he had no prejudice about the demonetisation decision taken by Prime Minister Modi and welcomed it.
