'Martyr' remark: Akhilesh finds support in Cong.'s Randeep Surjewala
New Delhi [India], May 11 (ANI): Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav, who managed to stir a controversy and invited the ire of many with his 'martyr' remark, on Thursday found support in Congress leader Randeep Surjewala. Surjewala urged the country to "understand Akhilesh's emotion behind the statement, which is only "concern" towards the martyred soldiers. "A soldier is for whole country. A soldier has no caste, religion or state. We are proud of all soldiers despite which state they belong. I hope the country will understand the emotion behind Akhilesh Yadav's statement, which is concern towards the martyred soldiers. He is worrying about what the Centre is doing for these martyred soldiers and what necessary steps have been taken by the BJP government against all the terrorist organisations, who are challenging the sovereignty of our country every day," Surjewala told ANI. Earlier on Wednesday, Akhilesh, in a bid to target Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "Many soldiers from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and even from southern India have sacrificed their lives for the country, but do tell me if any soldier from Gujarat has done so?"
