'Iron Lady' Irom Sharmila ends 16-year-fast, says want to be Manipur CM

"He (Farooq Abdullah) was attending a function. We were all with them. When we were departing from the function, a man came from behind, and he ran very fast and placed his revolver on the back of Doctor Sahib (Farooq Abdullah), and he fired, but his shot missed. The people who were with Doctor Sahib's (Farooq Abdullah) security people caught him in a moment, made him fall, pressed him, and, with great difficulty, we took the pistol from him. Then we left from there and came back home," Jan told ANI.

Hariom Vashishth from Rohtak said he had arrived a day earlier and completed the ritual bath before the eclipse began. He explained that a fast is observed during the sutak period, during which devotees refrain from drinking water, eating food, or performing any rituals. He added that the eclipse is scheduled from 3:20 pm to 6:47 pm, while the sutak period begins nine hours prior, leading to the closure of temple doors.

A 22-year-old man was injured after an iron rod fell from the Sewri-Worli Bridge onto Acharya Donde Marg in Mumbai on Friday night.

"It's two to two and a half kilometers or whether it's feasible to have this bypass, and so I had already spoken to the minister regarding this and had written to him as well. So he has instituted a small committee for a study, plus a consultancy to explore what is possible here and what is not. So I think what the request is that more time isn't wasted, and they do this fast, and I will definitely request for that," she said.
