'Immature' Kejriwal's blame-game irked people: Prashant Bhushan on MCD polls
New Delhi [India], April 27 (ANI): Advocate Prashant Bhushan, who co-founded the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, on Thursday said the people of Delhi rejected the latter in the recently-held MCD polls as he failed to deliver any of the promises he made to them during the campaign. Bhushan later moved on and co-founded the Swaraj India party. Bhushan asserted that 'immature' Kejriwal kept on blaming either the Lieutenant General or Prime Minister Narendra Modi for every folly and this blame-game of his irked the people. "It is very unfortunate that a party which was formed on a promise of alternative politics, on the promise of practising transparency, accountability, internal democracy and not resorting to power politics broke all promises. It became like a ordinary conventional political party," said Bhushan. The AAP members have blamed the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) for its defeat. Following the BJP's victory in the MCD polls, Congress leaders like Ajay Maken, Gurudas Kamat and P.C. Chacko also announced their resignations from their posts. The BJP has swept the polls to Delhi's three municipal corporations, North, East and South winning 181 seats out of 270 seats. The party succeeded in retaining power in the three civic bodies for the third consecutive term. The AAP with 48 seats finished second, Congress with 29 seats third. 12 seats went to others including Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Samajwadi Party (SP), Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and Independents.
