'Cashless Chaupals' will make minorities switch to cashless economy, asserts Centre
New Delhi [India], Dec. 12 (ANI): The Centre on Monday shrugged off the opposition's charge of cashless transactions not being possible for all in a country like India, saying it will, via its programme 'Cashless Chaupals', ensure that all people are easily able to switch from a cash to a cashless economy. Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi informed that after the conclusion of winter session of Parliament, the government will hold 'Cashless Chaupals', under which people would be introduced to the concept of cashless system. "After the winter session of parliament, our officials and myself are going to organise 'Cashless Chaupals', under which we are going to make the minorities aware of how easily can they become a part of the cashless system and make their lives even more convenient," Naqvi said. Rubbishing the claims made the opposition alleging that the new currency is not reaching Muslim-dominated areas, he said, "Currency is being circulated in all the areas and it has nothing to do with any caste putting up in the region." "If there is some complain regarding money not reaching any area, then people should approach the government," he added. Since the time the Centre announced ban on high-denomination currency of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000, it has been receiving flak from the opposition for its unpreparedness and wrong implementation of the move.
