J-K politicians responsible for 'misleading' children: Congress on Farooq Abdullah statement
New Delhi [India], Apr. 6 (ANI): Slamming the National Conference (NC) president, Farooq Abdullah, for glorifying stone-pelters, Congress leader K. T. S. Tulsi on Thursday accused the Jammu and Kashmir politicians of misleading the children. "These children are being misled and the politicians in Jammu and Kashmir should be held responsible for it. The stone-pelters are very young and they should concentrate on studies and make themselves responsible citizen," Tulsi told ANI. Tulsi further stated that the stone-pelting issue entirely depends on tourism and terrorism that should be looked into. "This whole scenario is entirely depended on tourism and terrorism, where tourism needs peace while terrorism is increasing day by day for which we have to make an all out effort to eradicate it as soon as possible," said Tulsi. Resonating similar views, Congress spokesperson Meem Afzal stated that Abdullah's statement is disappointing and will not be accepted. "The situation in Kashmir has always been bad especially on the social security terms. Farooq Abdullah's statement is disappointing and will not be accepted. He is known for making lame statements but that does not give him the right to comment on anything that will affect the peace in the country," Afzal told ANI. Abdullah, who was reacting to Prime Minister Modi's statement on April 2 at the inauguration of Chenani-Nashri tunnel that Kashmir's youth need to choose between tourism and terrorism, is contesting the bye-election to Srinagar Lok Sabha seat as the joint candidate of opposition National Conference and Congress. The polling in the constituency will be held on April 9. (ANI)
