Nellore (Andhra Pradesh) [India] August 24 (ANI): YSRCP former MLA Pinneli Ramakrishna Reddy, arrested in an EVM-breaking case, was released from Nellore prison on Saturday, following the bail granted by Andhra Pradesh High Court.
After the release of Ramakrishna Reddy, former YSRCP Minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy criticized the Telugu Desham Party-led government for "foisting false cases" on Macherla's MLA
"He (Ramakrishna Reddy) is people's leader who had won four times from Macharla, and putting him in jail is atrocious." Govardhan Reddy said.
Govardhan Reddy further accused Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu of "intimidating" those who criticized him by filing cases against them.
Govardhan Reddy alleged that while EVMs were destroyed in many places, only Ramakrishna Reddy was booked.
"If Chandrababu continues like this, there will be severe consequences in the future, the same will happen with him in the future, and no one's power is permanent." Govardhan Reddy said.
Reddy further criticised Naidu saying people are "ridiculing him" as he failed to fulfil his promise of good governance within 100 days.
The YSRCP leader also declared that he will boldly face any cases, arrests, and jail terms, and criticized the government for law and order problems in the state.
Reddy expressed relief that the High Court granted bail to Ramakrishna Reddy. He was arrested for the destruction of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and an attack on police at a polling centre in the Macharla constituency of Palnadu district in the recent Andhra Pradesh general elections.
The actions of YSRCP MLA were allegedly caught on the web camera upon which the Election Commission of India launched a probe against him, resulting in his arrest.
Ramakrishna Reddy was granted conditional bail on August 23.(ANI)
