YSRCP Rajya Sabha MP's daughter gets bail in Chennai hit-and-run case

YSRCP Rajya Sabha MP Beeda Masthan Rao's daughter, Beeda Madhuri, was arrested and later released on station bail after her luxury car ran over a 21-year-old youth sleeping on the platform at Besant Nagar in Chennai on Monday evening.

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], June 19 (ANI): Rajya Sabha MP from YSR Congress Party Beeda Masthan Rao's daughter Madhuri who allegedly ran over a 21-year-old man sleeping on a footpath in Chennai was arrested and later released on bail, police said.
The deceased identified as 21-year-old Surya succumbed to his injuries. He was working as a painter.
Madhuri was arrested and released on station bail by the Chennai police on Tuesday.
Chennai Adyar area Traffic Investigation Wing Police have registered a case under Section 304A of the IPC (causing death by negligence), a bailable offence, and issued a summons to the car owner.
Madhuri allegedly fled the spot after the incident on Monday night and her friend got out of the car and argued with the public, who had gathered after the accident. Surya was rushed to a nearby hospital, but he died before reaching the hospital.
Surya's family members and neighbours gathered at the J-5 Shastri Nagar Police Station, Adyar demanding justice.
Upon reviewing CCTV camera footage, the police identified that the car belonged to the Beeda Masthan Rao Group and was registered in Puducherry. (ANI)
