Tadepalli (Andhra Pradesh) [India], March 12 (ANI): Reiterating that YSRCP will continue to be the voice of the voiceless, party President and former Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy said on Wednesday that the party took birth out of struggle and fighting against injustice is not new.
Speaking at the Party Formation Day function held at the Party office here, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said of the 15 years, the party was in the Opposition for ten years and has been with the people speaking on their behalf. The party owns up people's plight as its own and has been with the people always, a release said.
Thanking the cadre for the support throughout the journey, Reddy said, concurrent to the Party Formation Day, we are also protesting against the government failure to clear the fees reimbursement dues putting students in hardships.
"10 out of the 15 years after formation, the party was in the Opposition and has given a fitting reply highlighting the failures of the government. Sitting in the Opposition is not new and in the next bout we will be bouncing back to power," he said amid cheers from the gathering.
"The coalition government has to clear Vidaya Devena and Vidya Vasathi amount to a tune of Rs Rs 7,100 crore for both the years put together and it has been neglecting it. The government has allocated a meagre Rs 2,600 crore putting the students' career in a jeopardy. YSRCP being the voice of the people has taken up the issue along with students and parents on the Formation Day," he stated.
Reddy further asserted, "The coalition has failed on all the fronts. Farmers, women, youth and all sections feel cheated as the Super Six promises made during elections were not being honoured. Education, health, agriculture and governance are badly affected during the past ten months."
"On the other hand, YSRCP cadre can proudly go to any house and they will be welcomed with gratitude as our government has delivered welfare to every household in a transparent manner and adhering to the welfare calendar. People believe that YSRCP will upkeep all its promises," he added.
Earlier, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy hoisted the party flag.
Taking to X, he said, "The party was formed to take forward the welfare agenda of Dr YS Rajasekhar Reddy. I thank all the cadre who had lend their support to the party during this 15 year long journey. The Party which began its journey with me had seen many ups and downs and went forward undeterred and it was in the hands of the people. After assuming power, we have shaped welfare and development agenda like no other state had done in the country and has improved the standard of living of the people and maintaining a sustainable economic development. I thank all those who were with Party all along in keeping the Party synonymous with credibility." (ANI)
