Doda (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], Mar 9 (ANI): Youth queued up in large numbers at Doda stadium to get selected into the Territorial Army. Most of them said they were enthused by the valour of IAF pilot Abhinandan Varthaman.
The Indian Army on Saturday held a recruitment rally at the sports stadium in Doda where scores of candidates reached and took part in various tests.
The candidates present at the site were full of vigour and confidence and were happy that they are at least getting a chance to serve the nation.
There are a total 59 vacant posts for four districts Udhapmur, Ramban, Doda and Kishtwar. As many as 2084 youths took part in the recruitment drive.
Speaking to ANI, Mubassir Ali, an aspirant said, “I am here to join the Army. It is our responsibility to serve the nation. I have chosen to be an army official. I got inspired by Wing Commander Abhinandan. He is my role model.”
Another aspirant, Rohit Singh too spoke on the same lines and said that it was because of Abhinandan he decided to join the Indian Army. “I am following the footsteps of Abhinandan. Every youth want to be like him now,” he added.
