"You cant' be daughter of Mandi only during election campaign": HP PWD Minister takes jibe at Kangana Ranaut

The PWD Minister of Himachal Pradesh and the election in-charge of the Congress Party for Mandi Parliamentary Constituency, Vikramaditya Singh, took a jibe at the BJP's Mandi Lok Sabha candidate and Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut on Saturday.

Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], March 30 (ANI): The PWD Minister of Himachal Pradesh and the election in-charge of the Congress Party for Mandi Parliamentary Constituency, Vikramaditya Singh, took a jibe at the BJP's Mandi Lok Sabha candidate and Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut on Saturday.
Talking to reporters here, he said that Kangana Ranaut is claiming to be the daughter of Himachal Pardesh, "But you can't be a daughter or son only during an election campaign."
He, however, warned the leaders not to make any derogatory remarks against Kangana Ranaut.
He said that the Congress party will finalize the candidates for four parliamentary constituencies and six assembly by-elections.
"I have been given responsibility as the Incharge of the Party for Mandi Parliamentary Constituency. I shall go to the people and hold a meeting. I shall also visit the Lahaul Spiti region of the state. I would like to ensure you that we will take up the issues of the people. The Chief Minister has taken on challenges despite the adverse conditions in the state.There should have been special support and financial assistance from the union government," said Vikramaditya Singh.
He said that the disaster had hit the state badly earlier last year but the central assistance was not enough.
"There has been a loss of over 15,000 crore rupees due to the disaster in the state but we received only 500 crore rupees from the center. We will bring these facts to the public. We have started the upgradation of the tenders that have been started and there shall not be any issue to continue the developmental issues in the state," Vikramaditya Singh said.
"The development of the state should not be stalled due to the elections.We have already brought 17 balley bridges to the state.We also brought over 140 new machines.We are completing and fulfilling our guarantees, including OPS, milk MSP , and universal carton packaging for apple products, which will be implemented by this year.During the disaster, roads were restored immediately," he added.
"Also, the Congress party has implemented the 1500 rupees per month honorarium for women.They (the BJP) could not provide lakhs of rupees but Jai Ram Thakur ji tried to stop the scheme. The BJP doesn't want women to get benefits.," he added. (ANI)
