Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], Nov 10 (ANI): With the BJP not forming government in Maharashtra, senior Congress leader and former Chief Minister Ashok Chavan on Sunday said that his party has not yet decided anything and is discussing all the available options.
"We are keeping an eye on the recent developments. We are discussing all the options before us. We have not decided anything yet," Chavan told ANI over the phone on being asked if the Congress would form government in Maharashtra.
Chavan, who is currently in Jaipur, said that the party wants a stable government in Maharashtra and not the President's Rule.
BJP's Maharashtra unit chief Chandrakant Patil on Sunday said that his party would not form the government in Maharashtra.
Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari on Saturday had asked acting Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to "indicate the willingness and ability of his party to form the government in Maharashtra".
The party's core committee met twice today to discuss the Governor's invitation to BJP to form the government in the state.
The term of state assembly ended yesterday. The BJP had remerged as the single largest party in the assembly polls winning 105 seats while the Shiv Sena bagged 56 seats. (ANI)
