The National Commission for Women (NCW) has taken suo motu cognisance of a brutal assault on a woman in West Bengal's East Midnapore. The victim was reportedly tied to a tree, stripped, and assaulted in the presence of her minor daughter, allegedly for protesting irregularities in a local road construction project.
