New Delhi [India], April 26 (ANI) : Congress leader Udit Raj on Saturday said the global mood is currently in India's favour following the brutal killing of innocent civilians in the Pahalgam attack on April 22. He urged the government to seize this moment to "teach Pakistan a lesson," noting that several countries are now openly criticising Pakistan.
Speaking to ANI, Raj said, "The entire world is with us right now. This is a good opportunity. The Indian government may not have had such an opportunity earlier. Many countries are with us. We should teach Pakistan a lesson. Many countries are criticising Pakistan. Innocent people were killed brutally... We have a good opportunity..."
Meanwhile, in a continued crackdown following the Pahalgam terror attack, security forces and Jammu and Kashmir (J-K) authorities demolished the house of another suspect linked to the terrorist attack that killed 26 people.
According to officials, the house in Chotipora village in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir was allegedly linked to a terrorist believed to be involved in the April 22 attack.
In a separate action, authorities also demolished the house of another suspect identified as Zakir Ahmad Ganie, at Mutalhama village in Kulgam district. Ganie is believed to have played a role in the Pahalgam terror attack, which has sparked nationwide outrage.
Officials said Gaine had been active in terror activities since 2023.
Earlier on Friday, the house of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist Adil Thokar, also known as Adil Guree, was demolished. Adil Guree, a resident of Guree village in Bijbehara block of Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir, is believed to have been involved in the Pahalgam attack that killed 26 people, including a Nepalese national, mostly tourists. He has been declared the most wanted, and the Anantnag Police have offered a reward of Rs 20 lakh for any specific information leading to his arrest. Two Pakistani nationals were also declared most wanted in the case.
Earlier, the Pakistan Army engaged in "unprovoked" firing through its multiple posts across the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir, inviting an appropriate response by the Indian side.
According to the officials, multiple Pakistan Army posts carried out firing on the intervening night of April 25 and 26, which led to Indian troops retaliating with small arms. No casualties have been reported.
This comes amid uproar over terrorists attacking tourists at Baisaran meadow in Pahalgam on April 22, killing 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen while leaving several others injured. (ANI)
