World Food India 2017 brilliant initiative: Dharmendra Pradhan

New Delhi [India], Nov 5 (ANI): Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan on Sunday asserted the World Food India 2017 as was a brilliant initiative by the industry of Food processing in India.

He said the programme was in sync with the agenda given by President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make India the food factory of the world.

"An agenda has been given by President Ramnath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make India the food factory of the world," Pradhan told the media.

He also said that a conference was conducted at international level on food policies and strategies.

"Only 10 percent of the produced organic materials are processed. If this process is extended to 60-70 per cent then farmers in India would get direct benefit out of it," Pradhan asserted.

The World Food India 2017 organised at Delhi's Vigyan Bhawan was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 3.

The three day-long event, organised by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, concluded today. (ANI)
