Woman biker meets Rajnath amidst 'Ride for Soldiers' solo quest

New Delhi [India], Jan 17 (ANI): Mitsu Chavda, a women biker on her solo pan-India 'Ride for soldiers' quest met Home Minister Rajnath Singh at his residence here on Tuesday.

Mitsu, who is in the midst of her mission, aims to travel to more than 102 cities spread across 17,000 kilometers.

The 23-year old rider from Surat started her nationwide ride on November 26, 2017, to create awareness for paraplegic soldiers, drawing inspiration from two of her soldier friends who were grievously injured on the battlefield.

Speaking about her journey so far, Mitsu claimed that the government has made India safe for women riders, and said she was 'lucky to get support wherever she went'.

"It is a great sense of pride for me that I have taken up this for our soldiers. My journey so far has been very safe and friendly. Wherever I traveled, people would approach me, asking if I needed any help. Even when my GPS didn't work, I faced no issue as locals helped me out a lot with directions. I believe women are safe, and that is due to the efforts of the government," she told ANI.

Meanwhile, the Home Minister lauded the efforts of the young biker on Twitter.

"Met Ms Mitsu Chavda who is on a bike journey of 102 cities across India. Her mission is to spread awareness among the people about the difficulties faced by paraplegic soldiers. I laud her efforts and wish success for her mission," he tweeted.

So far, Mitsu has covered a distance of 11,000 kilometers. (ANI)
