"Will submit report on future precautionary measures": Former UP DGP on Sambhal violence

Former DGP Uttar Pradesh AK Jain, Member of judicial probe committee investigating Sambhal violence said that they would give a report that what precautionary measures should be taken to avoid similar situation in the future.

Sambhal (Uttar Pradesh) [India], April 11 (ANI): Former DGP Uttar Pradesh AK Jain, Member of judicial probe committee investigating Sambhal violence said that they would give a report that what precautionary measures should be taken to avoid similar situation in the future.
Sambhal SP KK Bishnoi arrived in Lucknow on Friday to appear before the Judicial Inquiry Commission and to present evidence related to Sambhal violence which took place on November 2024 before the commission.
Former DGP Uttar Pradesh AK Jain said, "The entire chain of events, the Police arrangements, the suspicions and how were things brought under control and how communal riots were thwarted there (covered). For the future, we will give a report that what precautionary measures should be taken. SP's statement has been recorded."
On 24 November 2024, violence erupted during a court-ordered Archaeological Survey of India survey of the Shahi Jama Masjid in Sambhal following that, the UP government constituted a three-tier judicial inquiry commission to investigate Sambhal violence. The commission is chaired by retired judge Devendra Arora, former DGP AK Jain and former IAS Amit Mohan Prasad.
Sambhal SP KK Bishnoi said, "I was called by the Judicial Inquiry Commission at 11:00 AM. They discussed the issues with me till 3:30 PM. I have presented all the evidence they asked for... I hope that the action taken by the Sambhal police will live up to the Judicial Inquiry Commission."
On SP MP Zia ur Rahman Barq being called in for questioning regarding his role in the Sambhal violence, he said that they have filed a total of 12 FIRs in Sambhal violence.
"We filed a total of 12 FIRs in Sambhal violence. Six have been charge-sheeted. For six of the FIRs, we have generated ballistic reports as well. (Zia ur Rahman Barq's) case is a conspiracy-related case. Other people involved in the case will also be called, and their statements will be taken."
On Pakistan-made cartridges found in Sambhal, he said, "The ballistic report and crime scene reconstruction report regarding the Pakistani cartridges have been presented before the commission. I hope the expert's report will also be considered. The media personnel present at the location were also witnesses, and the incident was recorded on their camera. So their statement will also be heard by the commission."
Earlier Samajwadi Party MP Zia ur Rahman Barq on April 8 appeared before the Special Investigation Team in connection with the Sambhal violence case.
The SP MP spoke to ANI and said that he was given a notice under the BNSS 35(3) and stated that he has "faith" in the judicial system.
"I was given a BNSS notice under 35(3). I have faith in the judicial system. I reached to cooperate in every manner... I have answered all their questions...", Zia ur Rahman Barq said. (ANI)
