"Will start working on expectations of people of Haryana": CM Nayab Singh Saini

Chandigarh (Haryana) [India], June 24 (ANI): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Monday said that the government in the coming days will work diligently to meet the expectations of the people of the state.
Addressing the press conference, Saini said, "In the coming 100 days, we pledge to work hard and start working on the expectations of the people of Haryana. And in the coming time, we will make 50 thousand recruitments in Haryana."
The Haryana Chief Minister also spoke about the SC's decision on granting extra marks to its domiciles in recruitment and said, "We respect the decision taken by the Supreme Court."
Notably, the Supreme Court on Monday refused to interfere with the High Court's order quashing Haryana's policy of granting additional marks to its domiciles in recruitment for certain posts.
A vacation bench of Justices Abhay S Oka and Rajesh Bindal refused to interfere with Punjab and Haryana High Court orders, which quashed Haryana's notification that granted 5 per cent additional marks to domiciles of Haryana in recruitment exams.
Haryana State Staff Selection Commission has moved the Supreme Court to challenge Punjab's and Haryana's High Court's May 31 order. Punjab and Haryana High Court set aside Haryana's notification giving five per cent bonus marks on socio-economic criteria of the domicile candidate.
The top court called it a populist measure by the state government.
The Haryana government, however, defended its decision and said that the policy was introduced to provide opportunities to deprived families.
Saini in the press conference further said that he wanted to convey five things to the people of Haryana. "There is no question mark on CET after today's decision; Congress people are working to spread lies; our government is fighting for the rights of the poor; if needed, we will bring a bill to the assembly; and our government stands with the poor people," the Haryana CM said.
Targeting Congress, Saini said the BJP government is standing with the poor person, due to which Congress is facing problems. He said, "Today in our government, there is no need to go to the doorstep of any leader, one gets a job without any expense."
Meanwhile, the Haryana government took multiple decisions on Sunday for the benefit of the other backward classes in the state. Saini announced these decisions.
The state government has increased the upper-income limit for the creamy layer to Rs 8 lakh per year.
The reservation for backward classes has been increased from 15 per cent to 27 per cent in Group-A and Group-B government posts.
Creamy layer is a term used in Indian politics to refer to some members of a backward class who are highly advanced socially as well as economically and educationally.
The government announced that the backlog of jobs for Backward Classes A and B will be filled on a priority basis, for which a special recruitment campaign will be run. (ANI)
