"Will issue notice to KSCA, RCB and Police Commissioner": Bengaluru stampede investigating officer Jagadeesha

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], June 5 (ANI): G Jagadeesha, the Bengaluru Urban Deputy Commissioner and the investigating officer of the Bengaluru stampede incident, on Thursday said that he will issue a notice to the Karnataka Cricket Board, Royal Challengers Bengaluru management, and others.
Jagadeesha inspected the incident site near the Chinnaswamy Stadium, along with his officials, today.
Speaking to the media, he said, "I will issue notice to KSCA (Karnataka State Cricket Association), RCB, Event Manager, Police Commissioner...I will issue a notice to RCB management."
Meanwhile, following the horrific incident during their IPL winning celebrations, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has come forward with a compassionate gesture to honour those affected.
Deeply moved by the turn of events, RCB released an official statement expressing profound grief and pledged immediate financial assistance to the families of the deceased.
"The unfortunate incident in Bengaluru yesterday caused a lot of anguish and pain for the RCB family. As a mark of respect and a gesture of solidarity, RCB has announced a financial support of Rs 10 lakh to each of the eleven families of the deceased. In addition, a fund called RCB Cares is also being created to support fans injured in this tragic incident," the statement read.
Acknowledging the injuries sustained by other fans during the incident, the franchise has also set up a dedicated relief initiative named 'RCB Cares', aimed at extending medical and financial aid to those hurt.
"Our fans have always been the heartbeat of RCB. We remain united in grief," the franchise said.
The incident occurred on Wednesday during the Royal Challengers Bengaluru's IPL winning celebrations near the iconic M Chinnaswamy Stadium, when thousands of fans gathered to catch a glimpse of their favourite players.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah stated at a press conference that 11 people died in the incident while 33 others were injured.
Earlier today, the Karnataka High Court notified the state government about the stampede and again listed the matter for hearing on June 10.
The High Court took suo motu cognisance of the incident and asked for a further status report.
"We have expressed ourselves to the Advocate General, and he has filed a status report, which is taken on record. Registry is directed to register this suo-motu cognisance as a suo-moto WP. Relist on 10th June, Tuesday," the Court said. (ANI)
