Will extend all cooperation to police says Army chief, on personnel being named in Bulandshahr violence

New Delhi [India], Dec 8 (ANI): The Indian Army Chief, General Bipin Rawat on Saturday said that full cooperation will be extended to the Uttar Pradesh Police in connection with an Army personnel's name figuring in the Bulandhshahr violence which occured on December 3 killing two persons including an Inspector rank officer.

New Delhi [India], Dec 8 (ANI): The Indian Army Chief, General Bipin Rawat on Saturday said that full cooperation will be extended to the Uttar Pradesh Police in connection with an Army personnel's name figuring in the Bulandhshahr violence which occured on December 3 killing two persons including an Inspector rank officer.
On being asked whether Jitendra Malik alias Jeetu Fauji, an Army personnel, has been detained by the Uttar Pradesh Police or Special Task Force (STF), Bipin Rawat said: "If some evidence surface we will bring him to the police if they want. If anyone has any suspicion we will produce him to the police. We will fully cooperate in the investigation. "
In the First Information Report (FIR) an Army personnel's name has figured in the list of accused.
Speaking on the issue Inspector General (Crime), Lucknow, SK Bhagat on Friday confirmed that Malik is one of the 27 accused named in the FIR filed on December 4 and is currently deployed in Jammu and Kashmir.
A team has been sent to arrest him. "We are expecting to have him in custody soon," said Bhagat while declining to reveal information about Malik's battalion.
"He is a named accused, he will be caught, interrogated, his role will be established and accordingly, he will be booked," Bhagat elaborated.
Yesterday five more people were arrested in the case taking the total tally of arrests to nine. The five arrested on Friday have been identified as Nitin, Rohit, Chandra, Jitendra and Sonu. The arrests were made on the basis of video footages and eyewitnesses. (ANI)
