"Will dedicate my 100 percent to the state": Rajasthan BJP leader Avinash Gehlot takes charge as cabinet minister

Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], January 2 (ANI): Rajasthan Minister Avinash Gehlot took charge as a cabinet minister after performing prayers with his wife and family in the secretariat on Monday.
The minister asserted to contribute "100 percent" for the prosperity of the state and the citizens of Jaitaran.
"On the first day of the new year 2024, with the blessings of God, formally took charge as a Rajasthan Minister," he said in a post on X.
Avinash Gehlot represents the Jaitaran Assembly constituency. He was the sitting MLA, who had been representing the constituency since 2018.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore also assumed charge as the minister at the secretariat in Jaipur and said that the coming five years are important for the state.
"It is the responsibility of the officers, employees and all of us to serve the people of Rajasthan. The Constitution also says that whatever responsibility you have, fulfil it properly. These five years are very important for Rajasthan," Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore told reporters on Monday.
Rajasthan Minister Jogaram Patel also took charge as a cabinet minister at the Secretariat in Jaipur.
The swearing-in ceremony of the Rajasthan state cabinet took place on Saturday at the Raj Bhavan in Jaipur where twenty two ministers were inducted into the government.
There are total twenty five memembers in the state cabinet which includes Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and two Deputy Chief Ministers Diya Kumari and Dr Prem Chand Bairwa.
Madan Dilawar, Gajendra Singh Khinvasar, Babulal Kharadi, Jogaram Patel, Suresh Rawat, Avinash Gehlot, Joraram Kumawat, Hemant Meena, Kanhaiya Lal Chaudhary, and Sumit Godara were also sworn in as Cabinet ministers during the oath-taking ceremony on Saturday.
BJP won 115 seats in the assembly polls and the Congress came a distant second with 69 seats. Rajasthan went to the polls for 199 of the 200 assembly seats on November 25. (ANI)
