"Will benefit over 1.86 crore domestic consumers" Bihar DyCM Vijay Sinha on 125 units of free electricity

Patna (Bihar) [India], July 17 (ANI): Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha on Thursday said that the decision to provide 125 units of free electricity will benefit over 1.86 crore domestic consumer.
Speaking with ANI, Vijay Sinha, hailing the government's decision said, "The big decisions taken by NDA under the leadership of CM Nitish Kumar are for the welfare of the poor... This decision by the CM will benefit over 1.86 crore domestic electricity consumers... As of now, the government is giving 44 per cent to 80 per cent subsidy and now, all the consumers, from rural to urban areas, will get 125 units of free electricity."
Sinha said that through this decision 90 per cent of the state's consumer will have free electricity.
"This means that out of the total 2.16 crore electricity consumers, 90 per cent will have free electricity... In the next years, a solar panel of 10,000 megawatt will be installed in the next 3 years with everyone's consent, which will protect the environment and save electricity," he said.
Additionally, Bihar Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary hailed the decision saying that it has been taken "in the best interests of the poor people of Bihar."
"This is a very big decision taken in the best interests of the poor people of Bihar...The public of Bihar would be thanking the Bihar CM and the state government for taking such a good decision," Vijay Kumar Chaudhary said.
Ahead of Bihar elections, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today announced that eligible domestic consumers across the state will receive up to 125 units of electricity free of cost starting August 1, a move set to benefit around 1.67 crore families.
Kumar said that the government has also decided to install solar power plants on the rooftops or in nearby public places for domestic consumers within the next three years.
"We have also decided that in the next three years, with the consent of all these domestic consumers, solar power plants will be installed on their rooftops or at nearby public places to provide benefits," The Bihar CM added. (ANI)
