"Why no re-examination for NEET?" asks Pappu Yadav; demands special status for Bihar

New Delhi [India], June 26 (ANI): Attacking the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Centre over the NEET-UG exam row, independent MP from Bihar's Purnia Lok Sabha seat Pappu Yadav on Tuesday, asked why no re-examination is being conducted after cancelling the exams.
After taking oath as a member of the 18th Lok Sabha, Pappu Yadav also said that nobody discussed the issue of NEET or special status and development in Bihar.
He further asked why no re-examination is being conducted for NEET exams and why the initial exam is not being cancelled.
"Who will talk about the youth? Nobody discussed NEET or special status for Bihar or the development of the state. So, I said so...I said Re-NEET. The people of Bihar have faith in me and I will not let them down," said Pappu Yadav while talking to ANI.
Highlighting the alleged paper leak and irregularities in the NEET-UG examination he further said, "Even, nobody talked about the paper leak in the Lok Sabha session. They (central government) don't have anything to discuss about youth, inflation, students and the poor of the country."
Earlier the independent MP from Bihar's Purnea, wore a t-shirt with the words 'ReNEET' written on it as he took oath as a member to the 18th Lok Sabha.
Pappu Yadav concluded his oath by saying, "Re-NEET, special status for Bihar, Seemanchal Zindabad, Manavtavaad Zindabad, Bhim Zindabad, Samvidhan Zindabad."
Taking to his official X handle, Yadav said, "Greetings Purnea, Salute Purnea! A start to parliamentary life begins with the swearing-in and the shift has begun."
He added, "The objective is Purnea model, service and justice in the whole of Bihar. And become the ideal of development politics!"
Talking about his oath-taking ceremony, Yadav said, "During the oath-taking ceremony, demanded for re-NEET and special state status to Bihar!"
The National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducted the NEET-UG exams, is facing criticism over alleged irregularities in the exams. This resulted in several protests across the country, with protestors and political parties demanding to disband the NTA.
An unprecedented 67 candidates achieved a perfect score of 720 out of 720, which added to the concerns.
The Ministry of Education said it has constituted a high-level committee of experts to make recommendations on reforms in the mechanism of the examination process, improvements in data security protocols and the functioning of the NTA.
The 7-member committee, led by ISRO former chairman Dr. K. Radhakrishnan, will submit its report to the ministry in the next two months.
