"Why has ED not come here, there has been corruption": Priyanka Gandhi in Madhya Pradesh

"My grandmother Indira Gandhi had built a relationship with you and hence you trusted her. When we were small she used to share stories about you and your culture," Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said on Thursday.

Dhar (Madhya Pradesh) [India], October 5 (ANI): Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra took on the Shivraj Chouhan government in an election rally in Dhar.
Priyanka targeted the Shivraj government allegeging that corruption was deep seated in the state. She alleged that no investigation has been conducted in Madhya Pradesh though several scams took place in the state.
"Vyapam scam happened here. Was an investigation conducted? If you write against them (BJP), ED immediately reaches. You have to ask why ED has not come here yet? There has been corruption with Maa Narmada and in connection with idols of Saptrishis (in Mahakal corridor)," the Congress leader said.
The Congrees leader also endorsed the party's position on population based rights.
"There has been a caste census in Bihar and in that it has been been revealed that 84% of the population is in the SC/ST/OBC category. But what proportion on government jobs are they entitled to? It was Indira Gandhi who had given rights to adivasis" she said.
The Congress general secretary also spoke toabout the stories that her grandmother and former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi shared about the relationship she shared with the people of Madhya Pradesh.
"My grandmother Indira Gandhi had built a relationship with you and hence you trusted her. When we were small she used to share stories about you and your culture. The relationship you had with her was that of love, care and respect. It was not one-sided. She had respect for you as well," Priyanka Gandhi said while addressing a public rally in Madhya Pradesh's Dhar on Thursday.
Highlighting the freedom fighters who belonged to Satna, Priyanka said, "This is the land of many great men. We call them great men because throughout their lives they fought for the causes of the public and never broke their trust..."
Speaking on the achievements of the Congress party in enshrining the values in the Constitution, Priyanka said, "We are proud of our country, in whose Constitution it is written that everyone should get equal rights...The Congress government made this right strong by giving power to panchayats."
"...We are proud of our country because our country was one whose democracy was considered strongest among the neighbouring countries...People who wrote the Constitution gave their lives for this country...," she added.
Priyanka Gandhi also promised that the Congress would bring back the Old Pension scheme if voted to power, would offer Gas cylinders at Rs 500 and give women of the household Rs 1500 every month.
The Congress leader called on the people to vote out the BJP government.
"Like Shishupal (Character in Mahabharat) their vessel of misdeeds is completly full. Now you people must take on the form of Lord Krishna and break this vessel" said Priyanka Gandhi
Madhya Pradesh will go to polls at the end of this year. The Congress is warming up to lock horns with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which presently rules the state. (ANI)
