Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], July 30 (ANI): Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis hit out at the Congress on Wednesday over its criticism of Operation Sindoor, saying the language used by Pakistani leaders is being used by Congress verbatim.
In a sharp reaction to the opposition's statement on Op Sindoor and its name, Fadnavis said, "What can I do if they hate Mahadev? PM Narendra Modi presented the entire truth of the Operation... Congress has been entirely exposed in a way, but it wants to prove the statement of the PM true - 'the language used by Pakistani leaders is being used by Congress verbatim'..."
A day earlier, the BJP leader had claimed that the Opposition members did not want a discussion because it would then reveal the truth and their false narrative would collapse.
"The opposition doesn't want to talk about Operation Sindoor because they know that if a discussion takes place, the truth will come out--how our brave soldiers and armed forces have globally demonstrated their capabilities and compelled Pakistan to kneel. Their false narrative will collapse. There is a war tactic called 'shoot and scoot'--fire and run. That's exactly what they do--they fire lies and then run away. They don't have the courage to debate," the Maharashtra CM said.
Fadnavis further criticised Congress leader and former Union Minister P Chidambaram's remarks questioning the government on proof of Pakistan's involvement in the Pahalgam terror attack, which led to the launch of Operation Sindoor.
"I'm not surprised at all. These are the same people who earlier raised questions about the air strike and the surgical strike. Due to such tendencies, the public has now questioned them in return. The problem is their mindset, and nothing can be done about such a mentality," Fadnavis said.
Fadnavis remarks were made while addressing a press conference to welcome former minister Annasaheb Dange who joined the BJP today. Dand had left the BJP to join undivided NCP led by Sharad Pawar 23 years ago in 2002. Today he formally joined the BJP. (ANI)
