Western Railways to use surveillance drones to boost security

Indian Railways is actively enhancing its safety and operational efficiency through the deployment of advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) devices and smart monitoring systems.

The Ministry of Railways has implemented a multi-pronged strategy to enhance freight efficiency, ensure seamless regional connectivity, and provide robust first-and-last-mile solutions. Key initiatives include the launch of the 'Rail Parcel' app-based logistics platform on a pilot basis, the expansion of the Joint Parcel Product - Rapid Cargo Service (JPP-RCS), and significant investment in terminal infrastructure across the country.

Indian Air Force (IAF) Chief Air Chief Marshal AP Singh on Thursday flew MiG-29UPG multi-role aircraft solo sortie from one of the frontline fighter bases of India, and reviewed the operational preparedness of a base in Western Air Command.

The Air Chief also reviewed the operational preparedness of a base in Western Air Command (WAC). The exact location of the MiG 29 sortie, and the WAC base has not been revealed due to security reasons.

Pushkar Singh Dhami, while speaking to the reporters, said, "We are taking strict action against rumours, and there is no such problem anywhere in Uttarakhand. We are keeping a close eye on the situation.

The new train services will collectively benefit millions of passengers across Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha, and Jharkhand. The occasion will also see the inauguration of three redeveloped Amrit Stations in Kerala and the dedication of the Shoranur-Nilambur Railway Line electrification project to the nation.

Himachal Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu chaired a workshop at IGMC Shimla organised on the occasion of International Women's Day, where women who had performed outstanding work were honoured.

"The opposition has brought a no-confidence motion against the Lok Sabha Speaker. Rahul Gandhi had the opportunity to speak for as long as he wanted, as time was allotted for his party. However, they lack facts, arguments, and any substantial basis. Today, the opposition stands completely exposed. The nation has seen how some members dance on tables, tear up papers and throw them at the Speaker, use pepper spray, and bring banners into the House. Such members should naturally be suspended according to the rules and should not be given a chance to speak," he said.

Indian Railways has sanctioned a series of key infrastructure and technology upgradation works totalling over Rs 765 crore to strengthen operations, expand line capacity, and modernise communication systems across critical sections of the network.

The projects include the construction of the Sainthia-Pakur 4th line and the Santragachi-Kharagpur 4th line, aimed at increasing line capacity and improving the operational efficiency and service reliability of Indian Railways.
