Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], January 24 (ANI): Ahead of Maheshwar Destination Cabinet meeting scheduled to be held on Friday, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that they would lay a foundation stone of a mission for women empowerment during the meeting.
CM Yadav further emphasised that they were also moving towards making a significant decision about banning liquor in the religious cities in the state.
"Today, we are going to hold a cabinet meeting on the banks of Narmada river and the capital of Ahilyabai Holkar's kingdom in Maheshwar, a city in Khargone district, on the occasion of her 300th birth anniversary year. We will lay the foundation stone of a mission centered towards women empowerment on the occasion. Along with this, we are moving towards a big decision to ban liquor in religious cities in the state," CM said.
The Chief Minister also highlighted that currently, many homes get ruined due to alcohol, suffer various diseases, face hospital and other expenses and above all it disturbs peace. Alcohol spreads a disease in which especially women and children suffer a lot.
"Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we are hoping to move towards good governance and to improve the lives of women, farmers, youth and the poor. We are going to make many such decisions due to which the cabinet scheduled to be held on the occasion of the 300th birth anniversary year of Ahilyabai will be meaningful. We will move towards doing whatever is needed for the betterment of our state," he added.
The CM stressed that Madhya Pradesh is the birthplace of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar and based on the spirit of equality and existence given by Babasaheb Ambedkar, the state is going to do better and better in the future.
Additionally, CM Yadav targeted the Congress party stating that whatever drama may Congress does, people know them very well about their past and hoped that Congress will take lessons and will move forward by seeking an apology for its past sins to win the hearts of the public.
"Whatever drama may Congress does, the people know very well what they did to Mahatma Gandhi, what happened to the descendants of Mahatma Gandhi? They did injustice to Ambedkar and no one has blown away the constitution as the Congress did. So by shedding fake crocodile tears, the Congress will want to cover up its sin but it is not possible. We hope that Congress will take lessons from this and will move forward by seeking an apology for the sins of the past to win the hearts of the public in true sense," CM Yadav concluded.
The Madhya Pradesh government is scheduled to its next cabinet meeting under the chairmanship of CM Yadav in Maheshwar, a city in Khargone district which is popularly known as the city of Lokmata Devi Ahilya Bai, today.
According to an official release, CM Yadav will perform puja-archana of Maa Narmada at Maheshwar Ghat and will offer floral tribute to the statue of Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai. Additionally, saplings will be planted in the memory of Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai and the ghats of Maa Narmada and the Maheshwar city will be decorated.
Furthermore, CM Yadav will interact with women weavers preparing Maheshwari sarees and members of the Cabinet will also visit the palace of Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai on the occasion. (ANI)
