New Delhi [India], February 10 (ANI): BJP leader Vijender Gupta has slammed the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), describing its years of misgovernance in Delhi and stating that the party failed to fulfill its commitments while in power.
He also asserted that the BJP would ensure the delivery of all promises made to the people.
Speaking to ANI, Gupta said,"...We will fulfil all the promises made by us to the people of Delhi...I am an MLA and whatever the party will decide we will follow that..."
Taking a jibe at AAP, he said the party had ignored the concerns of the people during its tenure, only to now realize the importance of governance when faced with the prospect of the BJP taking over.
"When they were in power, they were oblivious to their responsibilities. Now, they suddenly remember their duty," he said, using the phrase, "the cat goes on Haj after eating a hundred rats."
He further added, "People will see the difference. They will appreciate the BJP."
Additionally, he added his commitment as a BJP lawmaker, stressing the party's unity and dedication to its principles. "You are interested in the Chief Minister's post. I am a lawmaker and a party worker. I was an MP, and I am one of the 48 legislators the party values equally."
Meanwhile, Following the Bharatiya Janata Party's historic victory in the Delhi Assembly elections, party's winning candidate from Shalimar Bagh, Rekha Gupta called the near-decade rule of Aam Aadmi Party in the national capital as a "AAPda" for Delhi.
She also slammed AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal and former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, calling them "self-centered".
The BJP leader further affirmed that huge development will be carried out in the national capital under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.
BJP won 48 seats in a historic mandate, returning to power in the national capital after 27 years. AAP won 22 seats while the Congress failed to win a single seat for the third time in a row.
The dissolution of the assembly paves the way for the formation of a new government in the national capital under the BJP's leadership. (ANI)
