Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh) [India], January 22 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav held a review meeting at the divisional commissioner's office in the district regarding a long-standing issue of the JC Mill which was closed over decades.
Ahead of the meeting on Tuesday CM Yadav interacted with the media persons and highlighted that the state government was always ready to help the industrial workers' families and poor families. He also stressed that he hoped JC mill workers would get their due money as quickly as possible.
"Our government is always ready to help the industrial workers' families and poor families. We have launched a campaign to resolve the issues of industries and mills pending for 25-30 years. We have resolved the issues of industries in Indore and Ujjain. Similarly, we held a first round of meetings reading JC Mill before and two more rounds are left. Today, I am here to hold a meeting in this regard," CM Yadav said.
"I hope that JC mill workers get their due money as soon as possible. It is our sensitivity as well as the wishes of our years old poor mill workers. I hope as the atmosphere of industrialisation is created in the state, such efforts give courage to our steps," he added.
Earlier, CM Yadav inspected JC Mill in November last year and took detailed information about the mill from the officials concerned.
The Chief Minister also stressed the government was constantly working for the better future of the employees/labourers working in various mills across the state.
"Our government wants to take along all the sections of the society, including the poor, labourers, backward classes. Our government stands in the interest of the labourers. J C mill is a very old case in which the government is a party in it, so we decided that our decision should be in the interest of the labourers," CM Yadav then said.
"The government's sentiment is in favour of the labourers, we should fulfil that commitment by helping them. It is a very old matter when the industry was set up, but even today the people are hopeful about it. The government will not break anyone's hope," the CM added.
CM Yadav had also taken a proactive administrative step in favour of about 5,000 workers, within 15 days of assuming the office by resolving a long-standing issue of the Hukumchand Mill, Indore.
The state government played a positive role and successfully negotiated a settlement package endorsed by all stakeholders, including courts, labour unions, and mill workers, among others. (ANI)
