Karnal (Haryana) [India], December 11 (ANI): Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Wednesday highlighted the critical role of animal husbandry in boosting farmers' income.
Addressing mediapersons, Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed pride in the National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI).
"...We are proud of NDRI (National Dairy Research Institute). It's not just Karnal; the entire nation takes pride in it. If we aim to increase farmers' income, we must advance rapidly in areas like animal husbandry alongside agriculture. The new breed developed by NDRI is truly remarkable and unprecedented. Technological innovations are driving a revolution in milk production," Chouhan said.
The National Dairy Research Institute in Karnal is a renowned institution specialising in dairy production, processing, management, and human resource development.
Earlier in the day, while addressing a public rally, Chouhan lauded India's progress under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. He said, "The country is advancing rapidly under PM Modi's guidance. A glorious, proud, prosperous, rich, and powerful India is being built. India will soon emerge as a Vishwa Guru (World Leader) before our eyes; there is no doubt about it. However, frequent elections remain a hurdle to India's progress and development."
Chouhan elaborated, "In India, preparations for elections continue throughout the year. Once the Lok Sabha elections conclude, Assembly elections begin. After Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, Maharashtra, and Jharkhand, now Delhi elections are approaching. Once those are over, Bihar elections will follow, and then others. For five years, political parties are preoccupied with election preparations. As a result, public welfare and development works take a back seat. Leaders--be they ministers, chief ministers, MPs, MLAs, or the prime minister--must focus on election campaigns when elections are near," he added. (ANI)
