We have initiated plan of around 20,000 MW of solarisation in Maharashtra: Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis

Nagpur (Maharashtra) [India], October 7 (ANI): A Bhoomi Pujan of integrated solar plant by Avaada Group was conducted In Nagpur on Monday. The production is scheduled to begin by April. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that the state government has initiated the plan of around 20,000 MW of solarisation in Maharashtra.
Devendra Fadnavis said, "Today, bhoomi pujan of integrated solar plant by Avaada Group was done. In a way, the complete integration of solar units is being done here. This is one of the state of art projects of its kind. The efficiency of the product prepared here is more than that of what we use today. We have initiated the plan of around 20,000 MW of solarisation in Maharashtra and this will be highly beneficial towards the same. They have decided to begin the production by April (2025)."
He said that in this plant module, ingots, chips and glass would be manufactured.
Earlier Avaada Group, announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Maharashtra for the development of two pioneering Pumped Storage Projects (PSPs) with a combined capacity of 2750 MW, Avaada Group said in a press release.
The MoU was formally signed between the Water Resources Department, Government of Maharashtra and Avaada Aqua Batteries Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Avaada Group. The signing ceremony was graced by the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, Avaada Group's visionary Chairman, Vineet Mittal, and other dignitaries.
The two ambitious projects include the 1500 MW Pawana Falyan PSP in the Pune & Raigad districts and the 1250 MW Kumbhavade PSP in the Kolhapur & Ratnagiri districts. With a total investment of approximately INR 14,000 crore over the next 5-7 years, these projects are poised to play a transformative role in ensuring Maharashtra's energy security and environmental sustainability.
Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis, expressed his commitment to significantly increasing investments in renewable energy, with a special focus on the Maharashtra State Agri-Krushi Yantrikikaran Yojana (MSKY). (ANI)
