"We are the best, yet again!": CM Mamata lauds WBPDCL for bagging best-performing company tag

West Bengal Chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday said that state-run West Bengal Power Development Corporation (WBPDCL) has ranked the best-performing power generation company in the country for 2024-25 by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA).

Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], April 4 (ANI): West Bengal Chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday said that state-run West Bengal Power Development Corporation (WBPDCL) has ranked the best-performing power generation company in the country for 2024-25 by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA).
In a post on X, CM Mamata said, "We are the Best, yet again!! The Central Electricity Authority (CEA), Ministry of Power, Govt. of India, has just announced the annual ranking of all the 201 thermal power plants in the country, based on operational efficiency (PLF - Plant Load Factor) parameters."
"WBPDCL, as a company (with an aggregate PLF of 88.9%), has been ranked the best-performing company in the country, surpassing giants like NTPC, DVC, Adani Power, Reliance Power, Tata Power, Torrent Power, etc," she added.
She said that Santaldih units of WBPDCL and Bakreshwar have ranked first and second in the country, respectively. Sagardighi and Bandel plants have bagged the fourth and ninth positions, respectively.
"For 2024-25, CEA has ranked Santaldih Thermal Power Plant of our WBPDCL (with PLF 94.38%) as the best (ranked 1st) performing thermal power plant in the country. Our Bakreswar plant (PLF 93.3%) has been ranked 2nd, Sagardighi (PLF 90.86%) at 4th and Bandel (PLF 89.62%) at 9th position (Nationally) by GOI," she said in the post.
"Congratulations to our officers, engineers, workmen for bringing out their best and making the state proud!" she added.
In 2023, Bakreswar Thermal Power Plant claimed first place, followed by Santaldih TPS and Sagardighi TPS in second and fifth place, respectively.
In a post on X, CM Mamata said, "WBPDCL sets a new benchmark in power generation, with its power plants securing top spots in the country's PLF rankings. Bakreshwar TPS claims 1st place, followed by Santaldih TPS & Sagardighi TPS in 2nd and 5th position respectively. A matter of immense pride for the state!" (ANI)
