New Delhi (India), July 16 (ANI): After holding a meeting with Opposition leaders, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad said that all parties unanimously wanted to see the Parliament function in the monsoon session.
"It was a conventional meeting. All 13 parties decided that we want to see the Parliament function. Last time also, opposition wanted both houses to run. But they didn't let Parliament work and we were blamed instead," he told reporters here.
Azad said that the meeting was held to discuss the issues to be raised in the Parliament, such as farmers' issues, unemployment and incidents of lynching.
Earlier in the day, Congress President Rahul Gandhi wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, seeking his support to ensure the passage of the Women's Reservation Bill in the upcoming session.
On a related note, the monsoon session of Parliament will commence on July 18. (ANI)
