Wagon of goods train derails in Assam's Maligaon; train services affected

A wagon of goods train carrying food grains derailed near MUPA in the Lumding-Badarpur Hill Section in Assam's Maligaon on Thursday evening, a railway official said. The derailment has affected the train services.

Maligaon (Assam) [India], October 31 (ANI): A wagon of goods train carrying food grains derailed near MUPA in the Lumding-Badarpur Hill Section in Assam's Maligaon on Thursday evening, a railway official said. The derailment has affected the train services.
The incident took place at 4:00 pm inside tunnel number 2 at KM /52/5.

"A wagon of goods train carrying food grains derailed near MUPA in the Lumding-Badarpur Hill Section. Repair and restoration work is underway," said Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of Northeast Frontier Railway.
Normal movement is expected to be restored soon. Senior railway officers of Lumding division have proceeded to the site, the official said.
Due to the derailment, the following trains are being canceled:
Train No. 05628 (Agartala - Guwahati) commencing journey on 31st October, Train No. 05627 (Guwahati- Agartala) commencing journey on 1" November, Train No. 05698 (Guwahati- New Jalpaiguri) commencing journey on 31 October, Train No. 05697 (New Jalpaiguri - Guwahati) commencing journey on 1st November, Train No. 15611 (Rangiya -Silchar) commencing journey on 31 October, Train No. 15612 (Silchar - Rangiya) commencing journey on 31 October, Train No. 15617 (Guwahati-Dullabcherra) commencing journey on 1st November, the CRPO said.
The official said that Train No. 15618 (Dullabcherra - Guwahati) commencing journey on 31 October, will remain partially canceled between New Haflong and Guwahati (ANI)
