Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], May 4 (ANI): Seeing the decline in the voter turnout in the first two phases of Lok Sabha elections in Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal district administration is leaving no stone unturned to promote voting awareness among the public.
The district administration has announced to honour the first voter of the polling station and also to distribute lucky prizes on polling day to increase voter turnout in Bhopal.
Bhopal Collector and District Election Officer Kaushlendra Vikram Singh told ANI, "We are doing various types of activities and campaigning to increase the voting percentage. Apart from this, we have decided to honour the first voter of the polling station and a lucky draw will be held every three hours in which we will give prizes to people."
He further said that a mega lucky draw would also be organised in the end after voting is over and 200 mega prizes will be given to the voters.
"After the voting is over, we will also organise a mega lucky draw with 200 mega prizes, so everyone will have their participation in the festival of democracy," he added.
The collector further said that all the necessary facilities were arranged at the polling station in view of heat. Proper water facilities, ORS solution and shade were arranged at the polling centres.
"There are around 500 critical polling stations, around 100 polling stations managed by women and separate polling stations for specially-abled voters have also been made. Proper facilities have been arranged on all the polling stations and secured with police deployment," he added.
He also urged the voters to visit their polling stations and exercise their franchise.
Bhopal will go to the polls in the third phase on May 7 with eight other parliamentary constituencies- Morena, Bhind, Gwalior, Guna, Sagar, Vidisha, Rajgarh and Betul.
