Virtual campaign for plasma donation launched in Hyderabad

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], Aug 20 (ANI): The Hyderabad City Security Council (HCSC) in association with the Hyderabad City Police launched a virtual campaign for plasma donation.

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], Aug 20 (ANI): The Hyderabad City Security Council (HCSC) in association with the Hyderabad City Police launched a virtual campaign for plasma donation.
The website for the plasma donation campaign was launched by state home minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali, while the video for the campaign was launched by health minister Eatala Rajender.
Speaking to reporters, the health minister said, "The initiative is appreciable and I appeal to the people who have recovered from the virus to come forward and donate plasma to save lives."
Anjani Kumar, IPS Commissioner of Police Hyderabad City said, the initiative of plasma donation is to encourage recovered COVID warriors to donate blood plasma to the needy.
"The main objective of the programme is to create awareness among citizens from all walks of life about the need-of-the-hour "plasma" donation. Setting an example of self, the men in uniform have taken the lead in the initiative. More than 150 men in uniform from Hyderabad City Commissionerate had already donated plasma to the needy. With the very slogan of Hyderabad City Security Council (HCSC) - Partners in progress for the people, by the people and of the people," he said.
"Let's donate plasma and co-exist. It's all about giving back to the society. The modern state had always been a welfare state. Today's noble initiative of plasma donation to the needy reiterates the fact," he added.
Meanwhile, the home minister appreciated the police department for the initiative and donating plasma. "Telangana Police and Hyderabad Police are the number one police in India. In Hyderabad, Police worked day and night during the lockdown and many police official were affected. I thank police for spreading awareness about death rate of the COVID-19 virus among people."
The link 'donateplasma.hcsc.in' is now open to register for the requirement of plasma and also for donation of plasma.
An option for any volunteer or NGO willing to register and work with HCSC in the campaign has also been facilitated on the website of HCSC. Post-registration, the backend team will call to verify the donor and recipient and facilitate the process of plasma donation.
The mobile and landline numbers to be contacted for registering are 9490616780 and 040-23434343 respectively. HCSC along with Hyderabad City Police will work in reaching out to the needy and economically weaker section of the society. (ANI)
