"Vidarbha will see large-scale development": Piyush Goyal at Advantage Vidarbha 2025

Union Minister Piyush Goyal attended the closing ceremony of Advantage Vidarbha 2025 on Sunday. The event was also graced by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

New Delhi [India], February 10 (ANI): Union Minister Piyush Goyal expressed confidence in the future of Vidarbha's industries, stating that with innovation, research, and support from IITs, IIMs, and farmers, the region will witness large-scale development, particularly in sectors like cotton, pulses, and agricultural products such as makhana and turmeric, under the leadership of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis.
Goyal attended the closing ceremony of Advantage Vidarbha 2025 on Sunday, which was also graced by Gadkari and Fadnavis.
"I am confident that our industries--whether large, MSMEs, or export-driven--will succeed. With new ideas, innovation, and support from researchers, IITs, IIMs, and farmers, we will improve cotton productivity, boost pulses, and create boards for makhana and turmeric. Under the leadership of Nitin Gadkari and Devendra Fadnavis, Vidarbha will see large-scale development," he said.
Piyush Goyal further underlined India's growth trajectory, stating, "India is the world's fastest-growing economy and is expected to become the third-largest by 2027. In the next 2-3 years, Maharashtra aims to reach a 1 trillion economy Under the leadership of Modi, Nitin, and Devendra, Maharashtra will be the fastest-growing state, and the contribution of Vidarbha is commendable. Vidarbha has become the gateway to growth, evolving into the engine for Maharashtra's future prosperity," he said.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Fadnavis said that two centres of development would be established in Vidarbha, one in Nagpur and the other in Amravati. He further stated that these development centres would have a positive impact on the nearby districts.
"We want to ensure development in every area...We will establish two centres of development in Vidarbha- one will be in Nagpur and the other in Amravati...This will have a very positive impact on the nearby districts..." Fadnavis said at the closing ceremony.
He also requested Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to organize a business conclave in Vidarbha dedicated to tourism to showcase the opportunities and possibilities in the field.
Advantage Vidarbha, in its second edition, is a premier platform for fostering industrial development, business opportunities, and investments in Vidarbha as part of Maharashtra. Organised under the aegis of the 'Khasdar Audyogik Mahotsav' by the Association for Industrial Development (AID), the event seeks to promote Vidarbha's emergence as a global hub for innovation, enterprise, and industrialisation.
Focus has been paid to Vidarbha's strategic advantages and immense growth potential.
The summit aims to attract national and international stakeholders which include policymakers, investors, industrialists, entrepreneurs and academicians. (ANI)
