"Very significant, important milestone": Union Minister Scindia on SATRC 25 conference held in Delhi

Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia expressed that it was a very significant and important milestone to host the South Asian Telecommunication Regulators Council (SATRC) 25 conference in Delhi.

New Delhi [India], November 11 (ANI): Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia expressed that it was a very significant and important milestone to host the South Asian Telecommunication Regulators Council (SATRC) 25 conference in Delhi.
The 25th meeting of the SATRC is scheduled to start today and will conclude on November 13 and all regulators across South Asian countries are expected to meet, congregate and come up with a confluence of ideas from a regulatory perspective at the conference.
Speaking to reporters in Delhi on Monday, Union Minister Scindia said, "This is a very significant and important milestone. South Asia has a very important role to play in the adoption of telecom technology across our region."
"It is indeed our pleasure to have this SATRC 25 conference in New Delhi, where all regulators across our South Asian countries will meet, congregate and come up with a confluence of ideas from a regulatory perspective, keeping in mind the interests of all stakeholders be it telecom service providers, internet service providers, satellite service providers or end consumers," he added.
He said that SATRC 25 conference would come up with a new agenda for the next two years.
"SATRC is held every 2 years. We will be embarking on the next 2-year agenda post this conference. India and the US are on the path of economic confluence, and economic growth, especially under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi ocer the last decade where new heights have been reached in the Indo-US relationship. This relationship is not only economic, they transcends global issues which affect the world on a global scale and this relationship today has become extremely strong and warm," he said.
"Under the leadership of President-elect Donald Trump and PM Modi this relationship will reach new height," he added.
The Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT) is organising the 25th Meeting of the SATRC-25 in New Delhi, India from November 11 to 13. The meeting is being hosted by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). SATRC-25 will be held with physical attendance as well as virtual/online participation through Zoom meeting platform (i.e., hybrid meeting). (ANI)
