Vajra Prahar enters 2nd day, efforts to tackle terrorism discussed

Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], Nov 20 (ANI): The 12-day long joint exercise between the Special Forces of the Sapta Shakti Command and troops of the US Pacific Command Special Forces known as 'Vajra Prahar' entered its second day on Tuesday.
The opening day was spent adjusting and zeroing the weapons and understanding each others' basic drills and procedures, while from Tuesday the exercise has graduated to serious business of putting them to test, with discussions being held on efforts to tackle the global menace of terrorism.
The exercise commenced in Rajasthan's Jaipur on Monday with the hoisting of national flags followed by playing of national anthems of both the countries.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Captain Landis Jason Robert of the US Special Forces, on behalf of Commander of US Pacific Command, conveyed his gratitude and thanked the ambassadors of both the countries for making the joint training event possible.
"Our endeavor would be to learn and share the experience of both, peacetime as well as combat environment while building alongside the friendship between the US and the Indian Army," he added
From the Indian side, the joint gathering was addressed by Commanding Officer 3 PARA SF who welcomed the US Army troops and conveyed the aim of the exercise about promoting military to military relationships as well as enhancing interoperability, jointness and mutual exchange of special operational tactics. He also briefly touched upon the schedule of the training.
The United States Special Forces will carry out rigorous joint training in semi-desert and rural terrain to enhance the interoperability of the two armed forces and further the military to military co-operation.
The contingents will train on different aspects including hostage rescue, building intervention, desert survival, medical aid, and combat firing.
The Special Forces will undertake a three-day outdoor exercise to validate their practices. (ANI)
